Technyx Opens a New Detailing Office in China |

(BOUCHERVILLE, QC) — Technyx, a Canam Group Inc. (TSX: CAM) business unit that markets outsourcing services in the engineering and industrial drafting sector, today announced the opening of a new business location in Guangzhou, China. This new detailing office brings the total number of Technyx business locations to five, with the four others located in Brasov (Romania), Kolkata (India), Boucherville and St. Georges (Canada).
“The office in China currently employs six structural steel detailers and should gradually increase to around 25 employees within two years,” indicated Jean Thibodeau, president of Technyx. “The detailers at the Guangzhou office will collaborate with existing detailing teams on small-scale projects,” he added.
“By opening an office in China, we are pursuing our natural expansion towards the East,” continued Mr. Thibodeau. “This will allow us to offer a third shift to the majority of our clients, which is a valuable asset in advancing construction projects given the skilled labor shortage across North America.”
Technyx currently employs over 400 detailers. The company generates approximately 40% of its revenue from external clients and also serves the needs of an internal clientele composed of other Canam Group business units. This business relationship allows Canam Group to maintain privileged access to a qualified workforce as well as stay competitive and flexible throughout the various cycles of the construction industry.
Canam Group is an industrial company operating 12 plants specialized in the design and fabrication of construction products and solutions. The company employs more than 3,000 people in Canada, the United States, Romania and India, and has partnerships with companies in Mexico, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and China.
