MuroxEnergy building selected as finalist for the 2009 Awards of Excellence in Architecture

Stageline Group’s energy-efficient industrial building project was selected as a finalist in two categories by the Ordre des architectes du Québec for the 2009 Awards of Excellence in Architecture. As overall project manager, MuroxEnergy led all aspects of the project and directly managed the energy-efficient design, construction and commissioning of this highly energy-efficient, LEED-registered building.

The Stageline building, inaugurated in October 2008, is a finalist in the following two categories: Architecture and Sustainable Development and Industrial Architecture. The architectural consortium of Luc M. Allard and Claude Hamelin Lalonde worked on this project.

The public can view the pictures of the 43 finalist projects and vote for the project of their choice by entering the Loto-Québec People’s Choice Award Contest at http://www.pea-oaq.com. The voting period ends on May 31. Numerous prizes can be won.

The winning projects will be announced on June 18 in Montreal during the 2009 Festival of Architecture and Forum organized jointly by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Ordre des architectes du Québec and the Association of Architects in Private Practice of Quebec. They will be selected by a jury made up of experts, government representatives and members of the public.

The Stageline building, located in L’Assomption, Quebec, consumes 69% less energy than a comparable structure built to existing construction codes and standards. It is currently the most energy-efficient industrial building in Quebec.

The Awards of Excellence in Architecture is an annual event that recognizes the contribution of Quebec architects in shaping the provincial landscape.
