2010 OCTAS Awards

Jean Thibodeau to preside over the organizing committee

Jean Thibodeau, president of Technyx and vice president of Information Systems at Canam Group, will serve as the president of the 2010 OCTAS organizing committee, which oversees the activities surrounding a competition that showcases contributions and achievements in Quebec’s IT (information technology) sector. This annual event, which began in 1987, is organized by Réseau ACTION TI, a networking association for IT professionals in the province of Quebec.

“I eagerly accepted the nomination to preside over the organizing committee of this prestigious event,” stated Jean Thibodeau. “This year’s theme, Generating Value, is a very popular concept these days, given the economic context, and genuinely reflects the attitude of IT personnel at Canam Group,” he continued.

OCTAS awards are presented to individuals, companies and organizations each year to underline their creativity, dynamic approach and contributions to information technology.

The 2010 OCTAS Awards will take place on May 22 at the Quebec City Convention Centre. Over 1,000 people who work in the IT industry are expected to attend.
