| Description: |
Canam currently has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time, professional Civil/Structural Engineer
at our steel joist and deck manufacturing plant in Calgary.
As a member of our engineering team, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Designing individual joist members and welds according to codes and recognized practices;
- Providing engineering expertise to drafters and other company departments;
- Interpreting contract documents to ensure that all specific conditions are included in the fabrication of our products;
- Solving fabrication and field problems;
- Checking special designs, reviewing drafting and shop order work, and signing off on projects;
- Preparing repair procedures and sketches of misfabrications or site conditions.

| Requirements: |
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural steel;
- Professional Engineer-In-Training license or the intention of obtaining one;
- Exceptional organizational and English communication skills (verbal and written);
- Knowledge of and experience with structural drawings and detailing within the structural steel industry would be considered an asset;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities is essential.
