| Description: |
| A permanent full-time position as a Fitter is currently available at the Canam U.S. plant in Point of Rocks, Maryland. The Fitter will fit and assemble structural framework and materials such as angle iron, I beams and other steel components, performing such work in accordance with the corporate mission, values and departmental financial objectives. |

| Requirements: |
- Lays out positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications
- Produces a product that meets recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures
- Ability to cut and cope neatly and accurately
- Ability to straighten WR sections with a torch flame
- Basic layout skills
- 2G Welding Test S.M.A.W. (stick) - 8 hours
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
- instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Must successfully complete a basic language and math skills assessment test
Physical demands:
The ability to stand continuously is essential, with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of the position will require the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities, from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (60 - 100 lb.) to climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive finger motions are required. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. |
