| Description: |
- Checks working order of equipment and safety of work area.
- Reads work order, structural drawings and specification sheets.
- Sets up equipment.
- Lays out parts according to work order and structural drawings.
- Performs math functions using the imperial and metric systems to read tape measure; takes measurements; marks the product; and adds and subtracts simple fractions and metric measurements.
- Tacks or welds structural parts into place using wire feed welding equipment.
- Sets up and operates equipment using computers and manual controls.
- Operates machinery in a safe and productive manner.
- Moves finished product to staging area.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Job Summary:
Performs fitting, welding or machine operations and related tasks, such as reading work orders, gathering required parts, taking imperial and metric measurements, setting up materials for welding, and welding structural steel products (columns, beams, etc.). Machine operations may include any of the industrial steel fabrication machines in the facility. Also performs other tasks upon request, including forklift and crane operation and preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment. |

| Requirements: |
- Ability to perform basic math skills: add; subtract, multiply and simple fractions. Ability to read tape measure, take imperial and metric measurements and mark product.
- Ability to pass a Physical Abilities Exam, a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
- Regular and punctual attendance. Overtime is required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Welding experience required, if not preferred, for fitter and welder positions.
- Possesses a strong sense of urgency.
- Works independently and/or as a cooperative team player.
- Willingly takes direction from supervisory and lead personnel.
- Adheres to quality procedures and demonstrates strong safety awareness.
