| Description: |
Responsible for performing routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process and finished goods.
Essential functions:
- Perform assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards. Report results to the line mechanic or supervisor, who will make an analysis and take the necessary action.
- Perform visual inspections for obvious defects.
- Perform detailed visual inspections when necessary to determine the quality of the product where the limits are not clearly defined. Remove the defects and place the acceptable product back on line.
- Notify the line mechanic or supervisor when inspection data exceed acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
- Record the results on inspection forms or charts, and report the number of defects found. Post and maintain forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels or special quality studies.
- Recommend the disposal of questionable products to the supervisor.
- Occasionally act as quality control clerk, maintaining all quality records for the facility.
- Occasionally act as scrap collector, touring the facility and removing tested and product samples from QC inspection stations.

| Requirements: |
- High school diploma or the equivalent preferred
- Four years of related inspection experience
- Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment
- Considerable mental and visual effort required
