| Description: |
Oversee the activities of project coordinators and project managers, manage customer projects through interactions with various departments and provide external customers with information and support.
Essential functions:
- Develop and maintain good relationships with customers; coordinate activities with drafting/engineering and production coordinators to determine project schedules.
- Assist and support other project managers in resolving problems or complex situations.
- Review purchase orders and sales contracts to ensure that legal obligations are met.
- Review specifications to ensure that the scope of the work is consistent with the bid.
- Maintain records of communications with customers (phone calls, conversations, standard letters and notices); update Canam systems with the appropriate dates and keep up-to-date and accurate notes.
- Write to customers and follow-up on outstanding Requests for Information from all departments.
- Follow-up on any codes that may affect delivery in collaboration with the Credit Department.
- Review comparison reports; research and prepare change orders based on verifiable information; follow-up on collection letters to customers and prepare processing forms and/or process extra credit.
- Ensure that final drawings are sent and calculations are included if necessary.
- Process back charge forms in collaboration with various departments when claims are received.
- Review claims, document issues and resolve claims in collaboration with management, who will grant final approval.
- Review charges, document issues and provide management with the supporting documents necessary to review claims.
- Update tracking spreadsheets with all back charges and change orders.
- Attend jobsite meetings as requested and directed by management and work with customers on jobsites to avoid or minimize the cost impact of potential back charges.
- Research accounting issues as requested by the Accounting Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

| Requirements: |
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a college or technical school with a four-year program and at least 10 years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Steel fabrication experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASTM and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and strong customer orientation.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Exceptional and proven organizational skills.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply basic geometry and trigonometry concepts.
- Ability to travel for necessary training and jobsite visits.
- Regular and reliable attendance and ability to work mandatory overtime.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and other software.
