Staying the course for intellectually-impaired children
Canam Group participated for the fifth consecutive year in the Pinocchios Foundation's annual golf tournament, which is the Foundation's primary source of financing. In addition to helping organize the event, Canam Group invited its principal suppliers and partners to support the cause of children with multiple intellectual disabilities. This year, a special prize a – hockey jersey autographed by Émile (Butch) Bouchard, a former captain of the Montreal Canadiens – was auctioned to benefit the Foundation. It sold for $2,600 The golf tournament raised nearly $130,000. |

Four Beauce-area employees took on the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge in June to show solidarity with children fighting cancer. They raised more than $16,000 for this worthy cause. |

Employees were invited to dig through their drawers for bras to donate to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation as part of the Osez le donner fundraiser for breast cancer research. WonderBra gave $1 to the Foundation for each bra donated. A total of 180 bras were collected. |

 |  | A regional shot at beating hunger
President and chief operating officer Marc Dutil was delighted to take on the role of patron of honor for the Moisson Beauce food bank's 15th annual golf tournament. The $91,000 collected will help to cover the cost of collecting, sorting and distributing food items across the Beauce region. |

 |  | Wearing jeans for Haiti
The social club organized Jeans Weeks ($1 donation for each day of wearing jeans to work) in an effort to respond to the needs of the Haitian people who suffered a devastating earthquake earlier this year. The fundraiser brought in $419 for the Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund. |

Employees contributed again in 2009 to the Toys for Tots campaign sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. New, unwrapped toys brought in by employees were picked up by the Marine Corps, wrapped and then distributed to underprivileged children in the community, so that they too could experience the joy of Christmas. |

Canam was the proud corporate sponsor of the Stoughton Friends for Seniors' 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament for the third year in a row. Dennis McCarthy, Canam sales representative, is the president of this organization. |

Three employees collected $1,650 during a bowling event in support of Bowl for Kids' Sake 2010, the largest fundraiser of the year for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Frederick County. |

Art at the Point Festival
Canam sponsored the children's art tent at the Point of Rocks' first-ever Art at the Point Festival. This festival, held in conjunction with the Catoctin Aqueduct's 10K Run, was a great success. |
