A group’s protection

Canam Group’s commitment to providing employees with a “safe, clean and orderly work environment” is one of its corporate values. The company takes seriously its responsibility to maintain accident prevention programs tailored to the needs of each of its plants and to comply with applicable health and safety laws and regulations.

Canam Group is supported in its ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of its employees by a system of internal audits and the exchange of expertise between its various plants. This enables the company to make regular improvements. All employees at all levels of the organization are encouraged to contribute to improving workplace health and safety.

The Jacksonville, FL, plant saw its OSHA Star status renewed in 2008. The Star designation is awarded by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), an agency of the United States Department of Labor, to “exemplary worksites with comprehensive and successful safety and health management systems”.

In 2008, Approach Management Services, an industry trade group promoting safety in the State of Washington, awarded “Dream Team” status to the Sunnyside, WA, plant. This is the most coveted designation granted in the field of health and safety to construction companies in the State of Washington.
